First stop on the Writer's of Color Blog Tour is the talented Cecil Washington, creator of the Creative Brother's Sci-Fi Magazine.
Born in 1970, Cecil is a husband and a father of two children. He graduated from Bowie State University in 1993 with a degree in Business Administration also with minors in Marketing, Music, Communications and Economics. Currently he lives with his family and works as a QA Test Analyst in the private sector.
His influences include: Octavia Butler, John Faucette, Steven Barnes, Zane, all things P-Funk (including Snoop), some works by The Last Poets and Hip Hop.
In Cecil's words: "I used to be a MC for a live rap band. Combine that with a weird imagination, Catholic childhood, nightmares, daily stress, and who knows what I'll come up with."
Cecil's current labor of love is the Creative Brother's Sci-Fi Magazine, Creative Brother's Sci-Fi Magazine, a magazine of African and African American Science Fiction, Horror, and Fantasy currently on Issue #9.
